PROJECT OVERVIEW

To help the Wounded Warrior Project reach a younger audience and build long-term support, our team created Warriors On Board: a campaign connecting veterans and Gen Z through shared interests like skate culture, art, and mental health. The initiative featured 11 veterans designing custom skateboards, using art therapy to express their personal journeys through service, trauma, and recovery.

I worked as a graphic and motion designer on the agency team, contributing to the campaign’s visual identity and video motion design. My role focused on helping shape the campaign’s look and translating that visual language into motion across the hero film and a series of veteran story videos.

VISUAL IDENTITY DESIGN

Working with the creative team, I helped develop a visual system for the Warriors On Board campaign that could live across video, digital content, and the campaign microsite. The design direction drew inspiration from skate graphics and sticker culture, incorporating expressive textures and bold typography while staying aligned with Wounded Warrior Project’s brand.

I created a visual identity guideline set that defined logo lockups, typography usage, key art treatments, and supporting graphic elements like sticker-style assets. This system ensured the campaign had a cohesive look while remaining flexible enough for multiple pieces of content and storytelling formats.

HERO VIDEO

The campaign launched with a hero film introducing Warriors On Board. I translated the campaign’s visual identity into motion by designing and animating key graphic elements used throughout the piece.

My work included animating the logo intro, title cards, transitions, and supporting motion graphics that visually reinforced the narration. The animation style reflected the campaign’s skater-inspired aesthetic through dynamic movement, layered textures, and expressive typography, helping create an energetic introduction to the program.

VETERAN STORIES

Each veteran featured in the campaign had a dedicated video sharing their background and the inspiration behind their skateboard design. To support production across multiple videos, I developed a modular motion graphics toolkit for the editing & production team.

I created motion templates for name cards, transitions, and graphic overlays, providing a consistent design system that editors could easily apply across all veteran stories. This toolkit helped maintain visual cohesion across the series while keeping the focus on each veteran’s personal narrative.
